  • Creating additional value for city carriers by adding a wireless local loop (WLL) strategy to existing business

Execution:

  • Setting up WLL carrier as joint concept with city carriers as add-on access technology
  • Creation of a central competence centre for fixed-radio-access know-how
  • Creation of a WLL patent during the development
  • Generation of Pilot licenses in a joint project with Vebacom (now Arcor)
  • Identification of critical issues of the WLL business in Germany (Finance and TCO)
  • Strategy change and quick adjustment of the original business model due to changes in German telecoms regulation policy
  • Identification of strategic partners for the assets and values created
  • Patent for WLL IP sold to Bosch Telecom (now Marconi)
  • Operation sold to one of the pure WLL ventures (STAR 21)

Investment Execution:
